Hikes - Winnower (2026) [Hi-Res]

Winnower is the fourth studio album by Austin, Texas-based quartet Hikes, released on 27 March 2026 via Halo Halo Records and Many Hats Distribution. Recorded and mixed by Dan Duszynski at Dandy Sounds in Dripping Springs, Texas, and mastered by Dryw Owens, the record was produced by bandleader Nay Mapalo, with the current lineup of Mapalo, Claire Glass, Chris Long, and Dwight Smith performing throughout.
Self-described as "naturalist experimental rock," Hikes have long built their music around the intersection of technical post-rock, midwest emo, and folk — anchored by intricate guitar interplay, a kinetic rhythm section, and the deeply personal songwriting of Filipino-American naturalist Nay Mapalo. Winnower — the one who separates grain from chaff — frames the album's thematic core: a process of stripping back to what matters, explored through tracks like "Vulnerable," "Honest Work," "Intentions," and the closing "To Belong." The inclusion of "Sana All," a Tagalog internet expression meaning roughly "I wish that for everyone," continues the thread of Filipino heritage that runs through the band's catalogue since Mahal Kita (2019). The album is available in limited 180g vinyl pressings in translucent red and tortoise shell variants.
