Michael Aldag - The Carousel (2026) [Hi-Res]

The Carousel is the debut full-length studio album by Liverpool-based artist Michael Aldag, released on 26 March 2026 via Humming Records. A 24-year-old synth-pop auteur drawing on The Cure, Depeche Mode and Lana Del Rey, Aldag crafted the record alongside producer Robin Stjernberg, bonding over a shared love of Alphaville and translating it into a dense, shimmering sonic world shaped by mood and instinct rather than genre convention.
Thematically, the album confronts the collision between ambition and reality, self-sabotage and fractured identity in the age of digital performance. In Aldag's own words, the material stems from an acute sense of disorientation — scrolling through old memories and measuring the distance between who he once was and who he is now. Characterised by The Line of Best Fit as "experimental, anthemic pop about the trials and tribulations of youth," the record extends the confessional directness that made him a TikTok breakthrough into a fully realised album statement. By the time of release, Aldag had already sold out four UK headline tours and earned consistent support from BBC Radio 1, cementing his status as one of the UK's most compelling emerging voices.
