“Caravanserai” is an album born from pure, spontaneous creation-a single-night session that was never intended to become a full project. It all started in my modest one-bedroom apartment in Irvine, California, where Mehdi and I set up a makeshift studio and let the music lead us. We improvised deep into the night, capturing the raw, unfiltered energy of the moment. The result is an album that unfolds like a journey across vast, desert landscapes, blending ambient textures with soulful acoustic melodies. It feels like a soundtrack to a moonlit gathering around a fire, where each note carries the warmth of shared stories. The name “Caravanserai,” inspired by ancient roadside inns where travelers paused to rest and connect, captures the essence of this collection: a fleeting yet timeless refuge of sound. It’s a project that feels both ancient and immediate, an unexpected recording that turned into a serendipitous celebration of music in its most unrefined, authentic form.
