Mayte Martín - In Illo Tempore ("La tradición no es la adoración de las cenizas, sino la preservación del fuego" Gustav Mahler) (2026) [Hi-Res]

Catalan flamenco singer Mayte Martín, born in Barcelona in 1965, has released the double album IN ILLO TEMPORE (Nuevos Medios) after a 25-year discographic silence in flamenco, her previous entry in the genre being Querencia (2000). The album is divided into two volumes: PURO, dedicated to orthodox, uncompromising flamenco accompanied by guitarist José Gálvez, and ENTREVERAO, in which ancient sounds coexist organically with diverse musical influences — material largely composed in 2012 with guitarist José Luis Montón. The conceptual framework is drawn from a Mahler quotation about tradition as the "preservation of fire." Martín describes the album not as a collection of songs but as a document capturing a stage of life at its artistic peak. Presentation concerts are scheduled for 7 April at the Palau de la Música in Barcelona and 19 April at the Teatro Cervantes in Málaga.
