"A Collection of Beatles Oldies" (subtitled "But Goldies!") is a compilation album by the English rock band The Beatles. Released in the UK in December 1966, it includes hits and other songs released by the band between 1963 and 1966. The compilation served as a temporary solution to meet EMI's demand for products over the Christmas period, as The Beatles began recording the album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", the follow-up to their album "Revolver", only released at the end of the previous month. It was the first official compilation of the band's greatest hits, although The Beatles themselves were not involved in its creation.
