This release is an archival collection of singles by the Peruvian group Los Shapis, originally recorded in the early 1990s and previously unreleased. The musicians are pivotal figures in the development of the Chicha genre—a unique cultural phenomenon that emerged in Peru during the 1980s at the intersection of tropical rhythms and Andean folklore. Thanks to the digitization and restoration of the original master tapes by Magnetica Music Group, these historic recordings are now available in high quality, documenting a crucial stage in the evolution of Latin American music.
