Marcelo Mellado’s debut album, Ya no atardece, is a conceptual sonic exploration of the Peruvian highlands as a space of mental resistance against urban environments. Blending electroacoustic collage, post-rock, and deep ambient textures, the artist creates a dreamlike atmosphere distanced from metropolitan chaos. The technical foundation of the work involves complex synthesis algorithms developed in Max/MSP and SuperCollider, seamlessly integrated with field recordings of nature and everyday dialogues. The project reflects Mellado’s fascination with Indigenous Andean cultures and their inclination for high-altitude living, transforming geographical experience into a multi-layered audiovisual poem.
