'Eskypism' is a split album showcasing sparse electronic arrangements by esteemed electronic producers Ogle and Mugwood.
'Eskypism' commences with 7 tracks (Side A) from Giulio Fontana (Ogle), composed and performed entirely on a Buchla Music Easel, while overlooking the rooftops of Rome from Giulio's home studio. This vantage point proves to be the project's catalyst as Giulio declares:
"The Album is a love letter to the sky, a soundtrack of the elements that compose it and that allow you to escape reality when you get lost staring at it.”
As ever, there is a wonderfully forthright focus to Ogle's art that proves to be disarmingly refreshing.
Antony Ryan (Mugwood - aka one half of ISAN) picks up the mantel on Side B. This time composed from a cabin in the far reaches of Jutland, using a similarly restrictive palette of nothing but an OP-1, SP404 and a radio receiver.
The series of windswept transmissions via the sky and encroaching sea, builds on the elemental fabric of these immersive pieces.
Taking a lungful feels like it will be good for the mind, body and soul.
