Stephane Deschezeaux's Springbok Records imprint tends towards the prolific, meaning the label's periodic compilations are a handy way of keeping track of both recent releases and overlooked gems. There's certainly plenty of heat to be found on this first such release of 2026, much of it coming from the label boss himself. He serves up a string of must-check missives across the set, including the breezy, sample-rich deep house soul of 'Make a Move', the slow-build sparkle of 'Jealous Girl', the R&B/electrofunk fusion of 'Bring Me Joy' and the disco-house roll of 'Disco Fever'. Elsewhere, Save The Robots' 'Walking in the Sun' is a slap-bass-propelled slab of deep disco-boogie, Ken @ Work's 'This My Way' blends boogie and two-step disco, and John Frisco's 'You' is a 21st century boogie-soul shuffler.
