Oren Ambarchi's album Hubris expands upon his previous explorations of driving rhythms, evolving influences from disco, new wave, and Krautrock into expansive minimalist compositions. The record is constructed around cyclical, palm-muted guitar patterns that gradually integrate complex instrumental layers. Featuring a diverse cast of experimental luminaries such as Jim O’Rourke, Ricardo Villalobos, and Arto Lindsay, the tracks transition from shimmering guitar minimalism to dense, raw fusion-funk and ecstatic noise.
