A Little Bit of Heartache is a collaborative album by guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Rosie Flores and rockabilly legend Ray Campi, originally released in 1997 on the Austin-based indie label Watermelon Records and reissued in 2026 through CMH Records. The recordings trace back to 1990 sessions at Penguin Studios in Eagle Rock, California, with additional overdubs laid down at Nashville's Hilltop Recording Studio in 1996. Notably, CMH Records had initially held these recordings as unreleased material before Watermelon brought them to light.
Rosie Flores is an American rockabilly, blues, and country musician active since the 1970s — a daughter of San Antonio who navigated the musical landscapes of Los Angeles, Austin, and Nashville, preserving and extending the legacies of such figures as Bob Wills, T-Bone Walker, and Doug Sahm. She became the first Latina to chart on Billboard's country chart. Ray Campi (April 20, 1934 – March 11, 2021), known as "The Rockabilly Rebel," was a member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame who worked alongside foundational rock-and-roll figures including Bill Haley, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, and Gene Vincent — and whose trademark white double bass he famously rode during performances.
The album's session lineup is remarkable: Josh Graves (dobro/steel guitar), Jesse McReynolds (mandolin), Diz Disley (acoustic guitar), Skip Heller (electric guitar), Glen Duncan (fiddle), and others lend the record an authentic roots pedigree.
