Cedric ‘im’ Brooks 7 track album ‘United Africa’ has achieved cult status among reggae fans. Rightly so. A sublime mixture of classic 70s reggae, afro beat and funk. Cedric Brooks is a product of The Alpha Boys school in Kingston Jamaica. His first recordings were with The Vagabonds and The Granville Williams Band. His first solo recordings were for Studio One with trumpeter David Madden and released as ‘Im and David’.

In 1970 he connected with Count Ossie and was part of the ‘The Mystic Revelation of Rastafari’ Cedric Brooks played Saxophone and Flute and arranged the horn section.
Cedric Brooks developed wide musical influences moving between the USA and Africa where he performed in Addis Ababa Ethiopia. All of Cedrics musical influences are apparent in this musically rich album ‘United Africa’ it’s a varied set and we hope you enjoy it. It has some of Jamaica’s top musicians and also includes drummer Tony Allen. A seven track set with extended mixes and has been re-mastered for Pressure Sounds. Cedric Brooks died in NYC in 2013. His musical legacy lives on.
