What you’re holding isn’t just a live album.
It’s the sound of a group of friends—bandmates through years of shifting lineups and different bands—playing their hearts out on a Saturday night.
Years of shared miles, shows, albums, life, and mistakes. The tempo rushes here. A chord slips there. But that’s the beauty of it. Allowing music to knock us off balance as we play our tunes.
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about being real. About being ourselves.
You can hear Gnola’s amp crackling at the start of Stairs to the Stars. That’s real. His amp died during the first tune—what you hear there is the only overdub on the record.
The rest? Cues shouted mid-song, laughter, coughing, a packed club on a cold December night. Beers. Laughter. Shouting
A band playing for friends, strangers, and the sheer love of doing it.
These songs trace a path that began as my old band, Lowlands, was imploding in 2017—when I had to skip the London shows for Me and the Devil with Chris Cacavas and the Dirty Devils due to a cancer scare. I came back howling with the ACCs’ Beautiful, at Night, and worked through the darkness with Beat the Night. Then came COVID—and another cancelled UK tour. Everything I’d learned about community, life, and hope poured into To The Light. We toured it as much as we could between 2023 and 2025, balancing day jobs, families, and everyday life.
This set captures the essence of those shows—recorded live at Milan’s legendary Nidaba Club.
No covers. No safety net. Just original songs and a room full of people who still believe in the power of music—community, connection, and rock’n’roll.
There are missed notes. Broken strings.Fluffed lurics. Broken amps.
But there’s also heart.
It’s messy. Loud. True. It’s what a band sounds like on a Saturday night!
And it still means everything to us.
So drop the needle. Turn it up.
Picture the red walls, the old posters, the clink of glasses.
Max pulling pints. Francesca greeting guests. Barbara checking the room.
The band tuning up. The Saturday night hum. Lights down. Volume up.
Join us, one more time, in that moment.
TO THE LIGHT.
