Alan Bishop's new album, Malarial Dream, recorded in Cairo, marks the artist's return to the aesthetic of late-era Sun City Girls. The work is a predominantly instrumental psychedelic folk record, permeated with Middle Eastern influences and avant-garde arrangements. A distinguished group of musicians from the Egyptian and international experimental scenes contributed to the session. Released as a limited edition LP, the album blends original compositions with obscure covers, creating a multilayered sonic tapestry characteristic of Bishop's mature style.
