The new complete recording of all Beethoven’s symphonies by the Bremer Kammerphilharmonie under Paavo Järvi has received an overwhelmingly positive response from the media. Each individual release has been highly praised by the specialist press. The new recording of the famous Ninth Symphony is also outstanding in terms of both interpretation and sound quality. The soloists on this recording are: Christiane Oelze (soprano), Petra Lang (alto), Klaus Florian Vogt (tenor), Matthias Goerne (baritone), and the Deutsche Kammerchor.

Paavo Järvi and the Bremen Chamber Orchestra performed all nine of Beethoven’s symphonies at the Salzburg Festival, thereby generating worldwide media attention for their successful new reference recording of this cycle.

“Järvi’s Beethoven cycle is very much of its time. There is currently no other complete recording that is so precisely tailored to new listening habits. Rhythmically pulsating, full of tension, rich in contrasts […] Järvi’s Chamber Philharmonic unleashes enormous energy. […] First-class soloists […] round off this vocally and instrumentally exquisite production. Conclusion: A lively, radical, rousing Ninth – and a worthy finale to a great Beethoven cycle, produced with rich dynamics and transparency!” (Audio 12/09)
