On the occasion of his 60th birthday, French hornist Herve Joulain presents works by composers - most of them in premiere recordings - some of whom dedicated these works to him personally. To be a musician of his time in the truest sense of the word, you have to be in touch with today's composers and their works. This means dedicating oneself to works that need to be created and promoted, entering into dialog with the composers, inspiring them with one's talent to new creations, it means exploring the possibilities of the instrument and stimulating the musician's abilities for bold and previously unexplored paths.
