The album was first released in the UK in 1970 under the title Plays The Best of Bacharach (Rediffusion). It was later reissued in various countries under alternative titles, such as The Best of Burt Bacharach (Netherlands, 1976) and Lo Mejor De Burt Bacharach (Spain, 1972).
The album is a classic example of the "easy listening" genre of the late 1960s and early 1970s, with lush orchestrations and a soft jazz influence.
