From the Book of Flames is the debut solo album by American musician Charlie Chesterman, released in 1994. Chesterman was the frontman and songwriter for the Boston band Scruffy the Cat, and this album marked the beginning of his solo career in alternative country and roots rock.
Chesterman, who died in 2013, left behind a legacy of "garage pub rock" and gentle melancholy, which is clearly evident on this album.
