Chinese-Berlin multi-instrumentalist Lane Shi (Otay:Onii) has released the album "Love Is in the Shit" via Pelagic Records. The work is an avant-garde amalgamation of metal, industrial, folk, and experimental music infused with grotesque aesthetics. The soundscape is built on fractured rhythms, abrasive textures, and unconventional samples such as manic laughter and shattered glass. Vocal deliveries range from spoken-word poetry to distorted wails, with some lyrics performed in the Chinese Tu hua dialect. For live performances, the artist developed a unique tactile lotus-shaped effect device, reflecting the conceptual depth of the release.
