The album "Routes of Evanescence," inspired by the poetry of Emily Dickinson, is dedicated to the work of three generations of American female composers. The program bridges the pioneering avant-garde of Ruth Crawford Seeger, the Pulitzer Prize-winning compositions of Ellen Taaffe Zwilich, the contemporary voice of Tonia Ko, and the folk roots of bluegrass. The central theme of the project revolves around the concept of musical evanescence and the enduring legacy of women’s contributions to classical music. A concluding arrangement of Bill Monroe’s work for two violins highlights the performers' connection to folk traditions, marking the culmination of Ariana’s decade-long artistic exploration.
