The Buckinghams' "Up Close" is a live retrospective of their performances. Although the digital reissue dates back to 2016, the original CD/DVD releases took place in 2010 and 2014 under the title Up Close: The Definitive Live Video & CD.
The concert was recorded at the Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville, Indiana.
The recording features original members Carl Giammarese (vocals, guitar) and Nick Fortuna (bass, vocals) along with their current band. The album includes 18 tracks, including all of the band's biggest hits from the 1960s, as well as covers of rock and soul classics.
The album is billed as an energetic show that evokes the atmosphere of the "golden era" of pop rock, featuring powerful horn arrangements and harmonious vocals.
