Amrita - AMRITA (2026) [Hi-Res]

Formed in 2022, the duo Amrita, featuring Anita Katakkar and Kayla Milmine, produces music rooted in a fusion of North Indian classical traditions and modal jazz. Their artistic identity centers on complex rhythms, improvisation, and the sonic interplay between soprano saxophone and traditional percussion (tabla and baya). Following high-profile performances at various Canadian jazz festivals, the ensemble is set to release its debut album on May 14, 2026. The project is produced by Grammy winner Justin Gray and funded by major national and regional arts councils.
