This is your soundtrack to the here and now, or whatever-the-f*%k-this-is -- by London producer Sangre Voss, who has been bending ears for more than half a decade (almost a million years in other wor(l)ds), with 12 inches, cassettes, and digital files on labels such as Third Place and Whirm, an imprint he runs with Will Hofbauer. Voss’ style, while rooted in club music’s energy and logic, contains traces of everything from dub to the traditional Breton folk music on which he began developing his musical chops as a teen. “Blunt Instrument of Attention” is his first tape for Unfulfillment: an album full of funky, fractalized, quivering, bouncing curiosities — each track an inquiry and a method unto itself.
