The renowned trumpeter Matthias Höfs performed and then recorded the concertos by Fazil Say and Wolf Kerschek during his artist residency with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester. Both concertos were originally written for Matthias Höfs.
Fazil Say is one of the most important and successful contemporary pianists and composers whose works continue to reach a wide audience. Wolf Kerschek is a Hamburg composer, arranger, conductor and jazz musician as well as a professor of jazz theory, composition and film music. His new concerto “The four elements” is a world premiere recording on this album.
