22-year-old Iranian-Canadian alt-pop artist Asal has announced her new, entirely self-recorded album Kiss the Sun, set for release on May 29, 2026, alongside the lead single "winters gonna come." The project serves as a deeply personal exploration of grief and self-discovery following the passing of her father, striking a delicate balance between melancholia and euphoria. In her cinematic and atmospheric soundscapes, Asal blends emotionally honest songwriting with influences drawn from pre-revolution Iranian psychedelic rock. Having amassed over 150 million streams through her debut EP and breakout tracks, the artist will support the new album cycle with an extensive international headline tour across Europe and North America.
