Danny Street, The Alan Caddy Orchestra - The Tom Jones Story (1971)

"The Tom Jones Story" is a studio tribute album to Scottish pop singer Danny Street, recorded with The Alan Caddy Orchestra and released on May 8, 1971. The album consists entirely of cover versions of the greatest hits of the legendary Welsh singer Tom Jones. In the UK and other European countries, this release was also released under the alternative title "Million Copy Sellers Made Famous By Tom Jones."

In the late 1960s and early 1970s, the "soundalike" format was incredibly popular in the UK. Budget labels hired session singers with strong voices to cover current radio hits. Danny Street had a powerful, wide-ranging vocal range, making him ideal for emulating the style of Tom Jones and Engelbert Humperdinck (for whom he also recorded a similar tribute album).
