FILTER is a reflection on an age of unaccountability and diminishing humanity.
It is an exploration of the filters used to shape audio content as much as the algorithmic filters employed to stream and manipulate information, the multiple social filters we apply to ourselves and others, the precious organic and natural filters, the atmosphere, algae and corals that purify and protect our world which are under threat.
Artists too are Filters attempting to distill universal experiences, thoughts and feelings beyond mystique and melody.
‘There is beauty all around us, filter out the noise’. G

FILTER tunes in and out of short, medium and VHF wave band frequencies. The full sonic spectrum is explored from the unfiltered live improvised ‘DUMAH’ with its electricity, drone strike loops and static featuring experimental loop guitarist David Torn (David Bowie, Jeff Beck, David Sylvian) to the distilled audio transmission and Frequency Modulated (FM) songs of ‘Five Leaf Clover’, ‘Desert Bloom’ and ‘Love me out’ featuring sonic innovator & keyboardist Richard Barbieri (Japan, Porcupine Tree) who lends his unique blend of sonics, avant-garde trumpet player Luca Calabrese (Isildurs Bane) and Theo Travis (Soft Machine, The Tangent, Gong) on duduk. The album travels between these poles within a world that is both alien and totally familiar visiting along the way all the shapes, colours and ‘Tiny Things’ in between concluding with ‘Traveller’ featuring Steve Jansen (Japan, Exit North).
