Upupayāma is the project of Italian multi-instrumentalist Alessio Ferrari. On Honesty Flowers, his fourth album under the name, he expands a vivid mix of psychedelic rock and global rhythmic traditions into a sprawling, percussion-led set.

Across its seventy-minute runtime, the music moves between driving motorik jams, scorched fuzz riffing and loose, funk-leaning grooves, with moments of pastoral acid-folk and drifting drone providing contrast. Ferrari’s layered approach keeps the sound in constant motion, balancing hypnotic repetition with bursts of distortion and rhythmic intensity.

Hedonistic yet meditative, Honesty Flowers captures Upupayāma at his most energetic and expansive.
