"Sweet Retro Moonlight (Remastered)" is a 2026 digital compilation release that brings together selected tracks from Julie London's two 1956 studio albums: "Lonely Girl" and "Calendar Girl", both released on Liberty Records and produced by Bobby Troup.

Tracks 1–2 ("How Deep Is the Ocean", "Remember") and 6–10 ("Fools Rush In", "Moments Like This", "I Lost My Sugar", "It's the Talk of the Town", "What'll I Do") are taken from "Lonely Girl"—perhaps the most structurally minimalist record in the singer's discography. The accompaniment here is reduced to just a single guitar played by Al Viola, creating an exceptionally intimate, late-night atmosphere that was rare for the 1956 pop scene. According to the singer's own recollections, it was one of her personal favorite albums.

Tracks 3–5 ("June in January", "February Brings the Rain", "Melancholy March") originate from "Calendar Girl"—a concept album where each song is dedicated to a specific month of the year. The album features a more diverse orchestration with strings and horns arranged by Pete King.

Julie London (September 26, 1926 – October 18, 2000) went down in American music history as the epitome of a torch singer: possessing a smoky contralto, an understated delivery, and absolute pitch precision. Between 1955 and 1957, Billboard magazine named her the nation's most popular female vocalist three times. Her recording of "Cry Me a River" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2001.
