Sean Thompson's Weird Ears - Inner Principles (2026)

Guitarist and composer Sean Thompson has released Inner Principles, a solo album under his Sean Thompson’s Weird Ears project, inspired by the retro-futuristic aesthetics of jazz fusion. Recorded with guest musicians, including Rich Ruth and Jo Schornikow, the record blends high instrumental prowess, an abundance of sound effects, and a balance between improvisation and structured composition. The work expands beyond pure fusion, incorporating related musical traditions to paint vivid sonic pictures ranging from chaotic rhythms to melancholic, Jan Hammer-esque synth layers. The release is available on digital platforms, and live performances will be scheduled around Thompson's touring duties as a guitarist for Margo Price.
