A collective of prominent Irish indie musicians have formed the country outfit Chuck Squires, releasing their debut album The Late Great Chuck Squires. The record's concept centers on a playful narrative about a fictional runaway frontman whose "lost" songs the band is forced to perform. Influenced by outlaw country pioneers, they recorded the entire album live in just five days, capturing a raw, 1960s and 70s Nashville-style performance. This approach delivers a warm, authentic, and organic acoustic sound featuring slide guitars and vintage keys, perfectly evocative of a cozy, late-night pub.
