Kari Kirkland - Especially at Night (2026) [Hi-Res]

Especially at Night is the third studio album from Canadian-born California-based vocalist Kari Kirkland, released on her own Slea Head Records imprint. The title is drawn from a line in Men at Work's 1983 classic "Overkill," written by Colin Hay — a song whose lyric gave the album its name and its emotional compass.
Produced and arranged by five-time Grammy nominee Shelly Berg, the record continues the artistic partnership that yielded Kirkland's acclaimed debut Wild is the Wind (2021) and its follow-up if (when you go) (2023). Berg's rare gift for translating Kirkland's eclectic pop and rock sources into sophisticated jazz settings — defying genre boundaries while preserving intimate emotional truth — shapes every track on the album.
