The album is a classic example of Easy Listening and Space Age Pop. During this period, producer Ethel Gabriel was actively developing the Living Strings project, attracting top session musicians from British orchestras for the recordings. For this particular recording, the renowned British maestro Geraldo served as arranger and conductor, along with arranger Bernard Ebbinghaus.

The album's concept is orchestral, smooth, and melancholic instrumental covers of major film hits and themes from the late 1960s. The music features rich string arrangements, creating a relaxing, cinematic atmosphere, often referred to at the time as "mood music."
