The debut album "in this body" by Mexican-Indian multidisciplinary artist Sparklmami is a nine-track, bilingual record that immerses the listener in childhood memories, reverie, and nostalgia. Shaped by her upbringing singing in church, the artist's musical style relies heavily on instinctual improvisation. The sonic palette of the release blends elements of 1970s Brazilian jazz, experimental soul, funk, and Mexican bolero, seamlessly weaving together cascading vocal runs, saxophone improvisations, and twinkling rhythmic structures.
