The album was recorded in Nashville with clear roots in modern American country and draws inspiration from artists such as Chris Stapleton and Jason Aldean.

Pelham Blue is produced by John Kennedy, who has worked with several established American artists during his career, including LeAnn Rimes, Billy Ray Cyrus and Faith Hill.

The album title Pelham Blue is a reference to a classic piece of music history. The name comes from the iconic Gibson finish "Pelham Blue", which was introduced in the 1960s and has since become strongly associated with guitars and the traditional Nashville sound.

Steph Upper Lip is one of the few Swedish members of the Country Music Association (CMA), the trade organization that works to develop and promote country music internationally. CMA is behind the annual CMA Awards gala in Nashville, one of the genre's most notable awards.

During the work on Pelham Blue, the ambition has been to unite Swedish songwriting with the American country tradition. The result is a collection of songs where storytelling is at the center and where influences from both classic and modern country meet.

– With my background in traditional melodic hard rock, I have always been drawn to the more rock-oriented side of country. With Pelham Blue, I wanted to make an album that takes its cue from the Nashville tradition while also reflecting my own musical influences, says Steph Upper Lip.

The album will be released on June 12th and will be available on all major streaming platforms as well as on LP and CD.

The release will be celebrated with a release party at The Node at Sergels Torg in Stockholm on Saturday, June 13th. Tickets are available via Tickster.
