There's an important nuance to the dates: the album itself was recorded and released in 1970. However, in 1994, the British label RPM Records and the German label Repertoire Records released it on CD for the first time in a restored form with bonus tracks (including rare live recordings).

Hardin & York is a unique British duo consisting of just two people: keyboardist/vocalist Eddie Hardin and drummer Pete York. Both had previously played in the renowned The Spencer Davis Group (Hardin replaced Steve Winwood). The music press rightly dubbed them "The Smallest Big Band in the World"—they managed to produce a powerful, dense, and thunderous sound typically reserved for larger ensembles.
