Diario di Viaggio della Festa Mobile (1973) is the only studio album by the Italian band Festa Mobile, released on the iconic RCA label (RCA Italiana series). It is a vibrant, sophisticated, and undeservedly overlooked monument to the classic era of Italian progressive rock.
Conceptually, the album is a musical "travel diary" (hence the title Diario di Viaggio). Festa Mobile's music is incredibly dynamic, easy to understand, yet instrumentally complex.
After the album's release, the band, unfortunately, disbanded. Some of the musicians (including the Bicchioratti brothers) later founded the pop-rock group Il Castello di Atlante, while vocalist Francesco Buccini faded into obscurity. The original 1973 vinyl release is a rare collector's item today, but numerous reissues (from Sony/BMG and Japanese labels) have earned the album a place of honor in the RPI collection. A true gem for fans of Locanda delle Fate, Quella Vecchia Locanda, and early Premiata Forneria Marconi (PFM).
