This is a striking, yet often overlooked, monument to the heyday of stadium rock, created by musicians with an impressive background. The project's leader and primary writer was Bob Welch, fresh from his departure from Fleetwood Mac (the pre-Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks era). He was joined by bassist Glenn Cornick (from the original Jethro Tull) and drummer Tom Money (from Todd Rundgren's Nazz).

Despite its strong material and stellar lineup, the album failed to achieve commercial success. Mass audiences expected Welch to deliver radio-friendly soft rock hits in the vein of his masterpiece, Hypnotized, while the hard rock audience of the mid-'70s was too preoccupied with releases by Led Zeppelin or Aerosmith. Nevertheless, today this debut album is considered an excellent example of American hard rock of the 70s, which is definitely worth listening to for lovers of powerful guitar sound.
