Jacob Boss - Before the Nation Comes (2026) [Hi-Res]

Before the Nation Comes is a five-song jazz instrumental EP featuring a 5- to 8-piece ensemble that combines the Black jazz tradition with the politics of Black liberation. A call for land and bread, the project honors the late freedom fighters Assata Olugbala Shakur and Jamil Al-Amin. It features an excerpt from Assata Shakur’s open letter to the Pope on the track entitled “Olugbala,” as well as messages from freedom fighters Kwame Ture and Jamil Al-Amin.
