GrAax - Hypertension (2026)

The French trio Graax, consisting of drummer Fabien Duscombs, double bassist Colin Jore, and bass saxophonist Frédéric Gastard, has released their debut album, "Hypertension." While the visual aesthetic references garage rock and post-punk, the musical content features a hybrid acoustic style that blends atmospheric jazz, free improvisation, and rock energy within an ultra-low register. The majority of the compositions were penned by Fred Gastard. The album includes an unexpected Leonard Cohen cover and was issued by an independent Toulouse-based collective specializing in cross-genre experimentation.
