Noertker’s Moxie:

Annelise Zamula – clarinet, flute
Eli Knowles – drums
Bill Noertker – contrabass

Bassist/composer Bill Noertker journeyed to Antwerp to visit a friend. In the course of his travels, he acquired a blue ukulele and kept an audio journal of tunes composed on this Blukulele. Upon his return to San Francisco he shared these ditties with his friends, woodwind player Annelise Zamula and drummer Eli Knowles, and through a musical trialogue they brought the Antwerp Diaries to life. Join them and experience an Antwerp of the ears—a parade of giant puppets, exhilarating encounters on a busy thoroughfare, an enjoyable meander through the maze of the old city, the sweet melancholy of departure.

In 2001, Bill Noertker formed Noertker’s Moxie as a vehicle for his art-inspired compositions.

Since then, he has composed over 200 pieces of music and has released twenty albums on the Edgetone Records label, including five extended suites: Sketches of Catalonia; The Blue Rider; The Druidh; Tricycle; and In Billville.
