"Wind Dancer" is the third studio album by the American rock band Terry & The Pirates, led by guitarist and songwriter Terry Dolan. The album was released in March 1981 on the independent label Rag Baby Records (distributed primarily through European and, in particular, German presses).
Since Terry Dolan always attracted the cream of the California scene, the recording featured iconic West Coast musicians. The album's highlight was the masterful guitar work of iconic John Cipollina of Quicksilver Messenger Service (he also contributed calligraphy to the sleeve). Legendary session musician Nicky Hopkins contributed keyboards, and Lonnie Turner of The Steve Miller Band played bass on side one. The final tracks feature background vocals from renowned country singer Pam Tillis and the Rowan Brothers.
The music of "Wind Dancer" is filled with roadside romance, melancholy acoustic licks, powerful vocal harmonies, and Cipollina's signature, gently soaring solos.
