The New Acoustic Collective - Something New Acoustic: Live in Redwood City (2025)

The New Acoustic Collective had the pleasure of performing live in Redwood City at Little Green featuring special guest, former original NAC member; fiddler David Boyden and 7 other incredible musicians on Friday June 20th, 2025.

"Something New Acoustic: Live in Redwood City" documents the newest iteration of the collective including new members Elijah Chen (guitar), Trevor Gabriel (mandolin), and Ryan Triolo (double bass) as well as longtime members Nathaniel Grohmann (cello) and founder/bandleader Jason Keiser (guitar/tres).

Influenced by the original and latter David Grisman Quintet, The NAC brought on board special guests James Vaughan (flute/alto sax) and Nick Ross (percussion) to blend an amalgamation of styles ranging from bluegrass, jazz, latin, world music, and more for an incredible energetic evening of live New Acoustic Music!

8 of the 10 tunes are originals composed by Jason Keiser, David Boyden, and Nathaniel Grohmann which sets a new precedent for the collective showcasing a majority of original material on the record.

Additionally, the album features music never heard before in the NAC's discography, a special set of tunes from the traditional music canon of Norway and Old-Time featuring special guest David Boyden on hardanger and hardanger D'amore fiddles.

Fans of David Grisman's "Dawg Music", Bill Keith's "Something Auld, Something Newgrass, Something Borrowed, Something Bluegrass", latin, flamenco, traditional music and jazz will enjoy what is being showcased on "Something New Acoustic: Live in Redwood City" featuring a burgeoning group of young players!
