Ultrablue - Something Like Summer (2026)

On July 3, 2026, American composer, producer, and keyboardist John Smatla releases "Something Like Summer," the newest full-length album from his Ultrablue project. Having classical and jazz training, the musician rebooted the project in 2022 after leaving his teaching career, which led to a series of successful releases including the acclaimed 2025 album "New York Stories." The new 8-track record explores themes of memory and time, compiling previously charted US smooth jazz singles such as "Storm" and the title track. The album features an impressive lineup of guest jazz veterans, including Gabriela Anders, Chieli Minucci, John Patitucci, and Omar Hakim.
