"Esa Fué" (1970) is a classic single and the title track from the eponymous release by legendary Colombian accordionist, singer, and composer Aníbal Velásquez and his ensemble. The record was released at the peak of the musician's popularity by the renowned Colombian label Discos Tropical.

Aníbal Velásquez, nicknamed "El Mago del Acordeón" ("The Magician of the Accordion"), went down in the history of Latin American music as one of the main innovators and popularizers of Colombian Caribbean rhythms.

Aníbal Velásquez's 1970 recordings had a colossal influence not only on the Colombian scene but also on the development of Mexican cumbia (especially in Monterrey), and in the 21st century, his tracks have become cult classics among DJs and vinyl rarity collectors worldwide.
