Loving Is Hard is the third and final studio album by Australian psychedelic rock band Tully, originally released in 1972 on the iconic Harvest Records label.

Modern reissues by the Australian label Chapter Music (in 2012 on CD and in 2013 on vinyl) and the European label Grapefruit Records have brought this rare record back into the spotlight.

The album has a dramatic history: by the time of its official release in 1972, Tully had essentially disbanded. In the late 1969–1970s, the band was a household name in Sydney and incredibly popular, but then the musicians underwent a profound spiritual transformation, became fascinated with Eastern philosophy (in particular, the teachings of Meher Baba), and radically changed their direction.

The public didn't always understand their new meditative experiments, concert attendances dwindled, and by the end of 1971, the band had disbanded. But since they still owed EMI/Harvest one more album under their contract, the musicians compiled their final recordings into a single farewell statement.
