Beyond The Beat - Where It Starts, Where It Ends (2026)

Beyond the Beat is the debut project of modular synthesist Arthur Fussy and percussionist Judith Schwarz, both members of the experimental group Other:M:Other. Both musicians bring extensive experience: Arthur collaborates with theater productions, while Judith participates in numerous projects spanning from Pannonica and Mel*E to avant-garde ventures like ChuffDrone and Little Rosies Kindergarten. The album centers on philosophical questions about the nature of rhythm—where it begins, how consciousness recognizes rhythmic patterns, and what role abstraction plays in beat perception. The music explores the symbiosis of electronic and acoustic sounds, stretching boundaries between rhythm and melody. The recording showcases the musicians' exceptional virtuosity at the intersection of jazz, electronics, and avant-garde music.
