The record merges the groove-heavy, weighty foundation of their '90s recordings with the broader, more experimental direction of their recent work. Production and mixing were handled by Jon Markson, who has previously worked with Drug Church and Drain; the sessions moved quickly, with a focus on sonic clarity. The album pairs driving, hook-laden songs — like "Get To It" and "Regenerate" — with more meditative, atmospheric passages, showing a band capable of both technical discipline and a willingness to experiment. More than three decades after the landmark albums Slip and Manic Compression, Quicksand remain not just genre originators but an active force still redefining their own musical language.
