Vocalist and producer Christian Wiggs, known for his versatility across the music industry, presents his debut orchestral album "Oscar Meets Tony: Act One," a project bridging Broadway and Hollywood classics. The record consists of eight tracks, each drawn from a film or musical honored with an Oscar or a Tony award. Among them are "Pure Imagination" from the iconic film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, the poignant "Tomorrow" from the musical Annie, and the lyrical "Alfie."
The album's musical foundation rests on a full 27-piece orchestra, anchored by recognized figures from the jazz and orchestral world. On drums is two-time GRAMMY winner and Tony award recipient Bryan Carter, whose credits include work on The Fear of 13 and Good Night and Good Luck. He is joined by GRAMMY-winning pianist Steven Feifke, bassist Russell Hall, trumpeter Benny Benack III, saxophonist Roxy Coss, guitarist Mike Bono, and trumpeter-arranger Danny Jonokuchi. Together, they build a rich orchestral sound that connects the golden age of the American musical with a contemporary jazz sensibility.
