Yu Kosuge - In One Movement - Liszt, Berg, Fujikura (2026) [Hi-Res]

"Beethoven; Complete Sonatas for Piano" (2011-2015) and "Four Elements" (2017-2020), a recital series themed on the four elements (water, fire, wind, and earth), "Sonata Series" started in March 2023. The "Sonata Series" is a large-scale project that was created to mark the 40th birthday of Masaru Kosuge (born in May 1983), who has passed the mid-career level and is now on his way to becoming a maestro, by creating a grand human drama through sonatas by various composers from the Baroque to the contemporary era. The project was a session recording made in January 2026 at the b-sharp Studio in Berlin, centering on the pieces featured in Vol. 4 "Mystery and Enchantment," a collection of Kosuge's most challenging and important programs. The album features Daisuke Fujikura's "Piano Sonata" written for Kosuge, "Shadow Pass" for cello and piano, and the only piano sonatas by Liszt and Berg, respectively, from their respective lifetimes. The title of this album comes from the fact that all the pieces are in a single movement. The cello in "Shadow Pass" is played by Benedikt Kleckner, a close friend of Kosuge, who also recorded "Brahms: Cello Sonatas" with Kosuge.
